The lakes are finally warming up with the unusually HOT weather (not complaining) we are having. For those of you that have been waiting to do you checkout dives give us a call to get them set up. We were spear fishing in Long Lake by Fergus on Sunday evening and had about 65 degree surface temperatures and 61 degrees at 18 feet. We had to rescue 5 damsels that were stranded out on the lake in a paddle boat. Justin took a picture of them but he forgot to save it. Visibility was only about 3 feet in the lake with all the high winds we have had this last couple of weeks.
Still have one of the 13cf AL pony bottles left that we got in on a closeout and selling it for $99.00 with valve. They normally sell for around $150.00 so it is a great buy. We also have some used regulators to complete the setup. There are still 3 rental Sherwood regulators with Shadow + and Wisdom computer for sale.
We have Russian built Pneumatic spear guns in stock and also some ban guns in.
It seem that whenever we arrive at a lake to dive there are always people asking questions about what we see and want to know what it is like to be under water. After forty years of diving it is sometime hard to keep answering the same questions but I have to keep telling myself that this is probably the first time they have asked these questions so it is something new to them. By your response you may get someone interested in trying our great sport. We can also make people mad at divers by how we present ourselves. When using a public access do not spend anymore time than you have to in front of the access so boats can get in and out. I always make it point if people are putting their boat in or out of the water and I am in my wet suit a offer to help them load or unload their boat. I have heard a lot of good comments on the fact we are willing to help.
With the new rules in regards to Zebra mussels make sure that you thoroughly clean your scuba gear before going from one lake to another so we do not unknowingly transfer these exotics.
