Eleven of us returned from eight days of diving in Cozumel and everyone had a great time. Two stayed another week when they heard how cold it was back here. Now we watch our tans fade away. Diving was excellent with seeing sharks, dolphins, big groupers and lots of big eels. We all wished it had not gone so fast and I think would go back today. The reefs are in great shape. Hopefully you will be able to join us on one of great trips in 2012.
I have seen a lot of information in the dive publications on how the Lionfish has been a big problem in the Caribbean . When I was diving in the South Pacific it was rare to see one. There is concern that they will upset the eco. system and it is starting to show. All the dive guides carry small spears to kill them. Our guide killed two to three on most dives and once speared they would take a scissors cut off the fins and feed them to the fish and eels. I even killed one in front of the resort on a shore dive. The group shot some excellent underwater pictures and once I get them I will send some of them out in an email.
It looks like we will plan an ice dive sometime late March weather permitting. We still have some of our demo/rental full face masks with comm. for sale and if you would like to dive on before making a purchase let us know and we will set up a session in a pool.
