What a storm we are having and it is too early for snow.  It is supposed to be nice by the weekend and warmer again next week.  Five of us went diving last Sunday, it was cloudy and Lake Seven did not have very good visibility but the water temperature was still 52 degrees and it normally is in the high thirties or low forties this time of the year.  That is the first dive that I have made in Lake Seven this year and we were just diving off the access so I do not know what the visibility is like out on the lake. We visited with an individual who was taking his boat out for the season and he said that the clarity readings this summer were 20 to 25 foot.  That is not the reports that we have gotten from divers so maybe the visibility is better away from access.  With the creek running full this summer might be the reason why the visibility has not been good off the access.  There is now a dock in at the access and the big cottonwood tree has been cut down. I wish they would put a dock in on Lake Six so it would be easier to put the boat in and take it out. If you have any connections on Lake Six encourage them to put a dock in.  The majority of training dives this year were done in Pickerel Lake as the visibility was as good as or better than most other area lakes.

We are planning a dive for this Sunday so if anyone is interested in going along let me know so we know how to plan for the dive. We will probably head over to Big Cornmorant Lake and dive off the access.  Reports are that the visibility has been good there.  Snow is supposed to be gone by then and it is supposed to be warmer.

Tri-State Diving's crew has been busy this fall with recoveries.  A couple of us spent a day on a lake south of Perham looking for a wedding ring.  In October we were in Maple Lake , Polk County on two different occasions looking for another wedding ring.  Last Friday we were headed down by Underwood to recover a shotgun when they called us and said that they found it in two foot of water by where they had the decoys set.

This has been one of the best summers of diving we have had in the last few years with warm water, warm air temperatures and good visibility so let's hope next summer is as great.

Classes went great and there were a lot of divers taking advanced classes and specialty classes this summer and fall.  We finished a Rescue diver class in October and divers in the class were; Bruce A, Chris R, Tom E, and Justin E. Those finishing their Open water class in October were: James M, Mark J, and Angela J.  Normally we would not have done the lake dives this time of the year but the water was so warm to finish out and that way they did not have to take the time to do them on their trip. They took a trip for a week right after the class to dive in Mexico .  I told them they should take their dive instructor with and they laughed.  They said they had some great diving and saw lots of fish.  Ales K, Doyle L, and Tom E finished their dry suit training this last week.  Ales K also completed his full face mask training.

Thanks to the store staff, Doyle and Hunter, for a job well done to make everything run smoothly at the dive center this last summer.

We have already had some great leads on places to go spear fishing next summer.  We are stocking a good selection of spear guns and those taking the class this last summer had a lot of fun.

The Cozumel trip is coming together and there has been a lot of interest.  I have twelve places saved and could maybe get a couple of more if these fill.  We need to get things finalized and remember that the airline tickets are priced the day they are purchased based on availability.   Some are using frequent flyer miles for the trip and if you are interested make sure you let me know that is what you want to do so we can get you traveling on the same flight or the same time frame.  With the weather we are having now it makes me look forward to getting out of here and enjoying some of the best scuba diving the Caribbean has to offer.  Join us for great diving, warm water, warm climate, great accommodations and great food.  If you are unable to travel with us and are planning on doing a diving vacation give us a chance to give you a bid on putting the trip together for you.  We work with resorts in the Caribbean and other dive locations that are top rate for some excellent pricing.

This time of the year we need to get inventory reduced and most manufactures have some great discounts as they prepare for new lines coming out so we can pass these discounts on to you, so if you are in the market to purchase some gear stop in for a bid.  We have one pair of Force Fins XL Pro rental fins and one pair of large original rental fins left to sell on our greatly reduced prices.  Also we have two rental Sherwood Regulator Computer Shadow combinations to sell this year to get rid of this year's inventory.
